Call for papers - International Workshop on Cellular and Industrial EDGE AI (CIEAI 2023)
5G-TIMBER is organising a workshop on Cellular and Industrial Edge AI (CIEAI 2023), in conjunction with the Eighth International Conference on Fog and Mobile Edge Computing (FMEC 2023), 18-20 September 2023, Tartu, Estonia.
Edge AI is an emerging technology that combines the power of artificial intelligence with the speed and efficiency of edge computing. In the industrial context, Edge AI has the potential to significantly change the way we approach manufacturing, supply chain management, and other critical processes, as well as contribute to the enablement effect. 5G and beyond cellular technologies can play a central role for that providing edge computing platforms for AI and therefore enabling faster and more efficient decision-making. In turn, Edge AI can reduce the amount of data that needs to be transmitted over the network by (pre)processing data locally on edge devices, reducing the load on the network.
This workshop will explore the latest trends and developments in industrial Edge AI and industrial IoT, with a focus on practical applications and real-world use cases. The workshop will provide participants with an overview of industrial Edge AI and smart IIoT, covering the latest trends, developments, and practical applications. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with experts in the field, learn about the latest research and developments, and explore the practical applications of Edge AI in the industrial context. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
Industrial Edge AI: Use cases and applications in manufacturing, logistics, and other industries
Industrial and Transportation Edge AI
Machine Learning for Edge AI: Algorithms, models, and techniques
Edge Device Development: Hardware and software considerations, including 5G and beyond
Edge-to-Cloud Integration: Best practices and tools, including 5G and beyond
Edge AI Analytics: Data processing, visualization, and insights
Security and Privacy in Edge AI: Threats, risks, and mitigation strategies
Edge AI Future Trends: Emerging technologies and research directions
Call for papers:
Submitted papers (.pdf format) must use the A4 IEEE Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings. Please remember to add Keywords to your submission. We invite submissions of original research papers, work-in-progress reports, and industrial case studies related to the topics of interest. We encourage submissions from academia and industry. Submissions will be reviewed by an expert committee and selected papers will be presented at the workshop. Submissions should follow the IEEE conference format and should not exceed 6 pages. Accepted papers will be published in the FMEC proceedings and IEEE.
Originality
Papers submitted to DTL must be the original work of the authors. The may not be simultaneously under review elsewhere. Publications that have been peer-reviewed and have appeared at other conferences or workshops may not be submitted to DTL. Authors should be aware that IEEE has a strict policy with regard to plagiarism https://www.ieee.org/publications/rights/plagiarism/plagiarism-faq.html The authors' prior work must be cited appropriately.
Author list
Please ensure that you submit your papers with the full and final list of authors in the correct order. The author list registered for each submission is not allowed to be changed in any way after the paper submission deadline.
Proofreading:
Please proofread your submission carefully. It is essential that the language use in the paper is clear and correct so that it is easily understandable. (Either US English or UK English spelling conventions are acceptable.)
Publication:
All accepted papers in FMEC2023 and the workshops colocated with it will be submitted to IEEEXplore for possible publication.
